Flowers Can Grow Anywhere

At the back of Carol's house there were flowers growing out of the concrete. Pretty neat, huh?

Nampula Church

Usually when you see articles in tour books about Nampula, this is the picture which you see- It's the Catholic Church in the center of town.

Tortilla Maker

Pieadate is a friend of mine who also does some work around the house for me. One of the best things she does is to make tortillas. Another American taught her how to make tortillas because tortillas aren't a food which many Africans know about.

Arlindo's house

One of Carol's workers, Arlindo, invited us to visit his
house today. After helping Carol purchase some plants
and planters today, we gave him a ride to his house. He
daily walks 1 mile to Carol's house to work. We felt
important to be welcomed at his house.

Sunset in Nampula

This is one of my favorite pictures we've taken in
Nampula. It was taken around 5:30 pm on Friday, August
5, 2005 while we were driving through the city.

Museum with Luis

As part of her language studies, Carol's teacher, Luis,
took us to the Mozambique Museum. The museum was
actually closed but the guard was glad to let us in and
even took time to show us around the exhibits.

This was the view as we waited for Kim's luggage to arrive. Thankfully it arrived only a few hours after she did.

How nice it was for Kim to bring new towels which MOM had insisted that she bring!! LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER! Ha Ha!

GOOD lunch

Two T-Bone steaks, french fries, mixed vegetables and two Cokes all for ONLY seven hundred thousand! Of course in DOLLARS that's only twenty-eight dollars. It was EXCELLENT!
